My Positive Motivation Journey

Welcome Series Part 3: My Positive Motivation Journey

I AM SUPERIOR TO NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND LOW ACTIONS

I used to often hear people say, “You’ve got to raise your vibrations.” Back then, I was a bit puzzled by what that meant. But now, I realize that everything in our world is interconnected by energy. Whether you believe in the Big Bang or Creation, it all began with an explosion of energy, and that energy is woven into the fabric of our existence.

Positive thoughts and actions have the incredible power to attract positive energy, while negativity tends to pull us down. When you embrace positivity, it elevates you to a place where you’re not preoccupied with what others are saying or doing. On the flip side, negativity can drag you down and make you want to pull others down with you. It’s a powerful reminder that we need to be mindful of our thoughts and words, speaking only what we hope to draw into our lives and eventually manifest.

Oprah Winfrey, known for her wisdom and ability to stay motivated, once said, “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” It’s like what the legendary Babe Ruth said, “You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.”

I’ve found that staying positive and balancing our thoughts is vital for long-term success. As Vince Lombardi once emphasized, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.” Achieving your goals and solving problems requires determination. As Jim Rohn wisely noted, “The only thing that stands between you and your dream is the will to try and the belief that it is actually possible.”

Here’s what I learned:

  • Affirmations are awesome – Just like exercise, affirmations can raise the feel-good hormones in our brains by helping us to believe in ourselves. What can be better than that? I learned that I must be my own cheerleader. I cannot depend on anyone else to affirm me. It is nice to have but not a requirement. I must make sure that I lift myself up first and work towards my dreams.
  • Meditation is vital – For me, meditation has allowed me to manage my anxiety and calm the clutter in my head. I like to do meditation my way, which means that sometimes l like to sit in a chair, on the floor, lying down, or in a recliner. I don’t allow someone else’s rules about anything to dictate my life. There is no wrong way to meditate if it helps you with what you need help with at the time.
  • Detox your life – Get rid of negative people and negative thoughts. PERIOD!!!
  • Let Go – of the past and be mindful of the present. It was during a meditation that I finally was able to let go of every bad thing from my past and realize it made me who I am today. And I like who I am (finally).
  • Don’t forget Self-care – This is the best part. Taking time for yourself is NOT selfish. Figure out something that you like for yourself and do it. I like waking up early on the weekend while everyone is still sleeping, making some Nespresso, and looking out the window to daydream. Getting a facial and a massage is nice, but you have to find joy in the little things. I can enjoy a coffee way more often than I can get a massage.
  • Breathe Chile – Life is too short to take everything seriously. Remember to breathe, laugh, and find joy in simple things. Don’t let worries weigh you down. It’s the love, laughter, and memories that truly matter.

Nelson Mandela is a great inspiration. He teaches us to stay strong in tough times and have hope. We can cultivate positivity by being grateful, surrounding ourselves with positive people, taking care of ourselves, and forgiving others. This journey leads to a more meaningful life.

Everything I discuss here is something I have used to help me. My ultimate goal is for Breathe Chile to be a movement to help the world through mindfulness, physical fitness, and positive motivation. I hope you will join me on the journey!
