7 Healthy Habits that will Quickly Change your Life

Developing healthy habits is the basis for a healthy lifestyle. Poor habits can negatively impact every aspect of your life because health is wealth.

What are healthy habits?

A habit is something that you regularly do without having to consciously think about it. About 40 percent of what we do daily isn’t decided by you and is due to habits. Habits dictate how we live, so it is essential to have strong, positive habits.

According to the Medical Dictionary, a healthy habit is:

“a behavior that is beneficial to one’s physical or mental health, often linked to a high level of discipline and self-control.”

Healthy habits improve your overall well-being and make you feel good. It includes things like regular exercise, a balanced diet, punctuality, keeping promises, etc.

Drink more water

Getting enough water every day is crucial for a healthy lifestyle. Our bodies are mostly water, so we need to stay hydrated to function properly. Drinking water also plays a vital role in flushing toxins (including fat) out of your system, delivering nutrients, and helping you feel full. Cold water can also help cool the body during hot flashes and help steady body temperatures.

Strength Train

Physical fitness is critical to slowing aging and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. After 30, people lose between 3% and 5% of their muscle mass per decade, affecting their ability to perform many routine activities and lead an independent lifestyle. So, it is imperative to maintain muscle mass throughout life.

Strength training — also called resistance training and weightlifting — simply means using your own body weight or various tools, such as dumbbells, barbells or resistance bands, for resistance to build muscle, strength and endurance.

Take a multi-vitamin

The primary role of a multivitamin is to fill nutritional gaps and ensure you get your daily allowance of under-consumed nutrients. A CDC study found that 76% of adults don’t eat enough fruit, and 87% don’t eat enough veggies to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Vitamins can make up for the shortfalls that happen when you don’t get everything you need through diet.

Drink home-made smoothies

If you can’t eat all the recommended fruits and veggies daily, why not drink them? The key to achieving nutritional balance in a smoothie is to use fruits and vegetables as the primary ingredients, enhanced with healthy fats in seeds, nuts or nut butter, and protein ensuring you get everything your body needs to be healthy.
